Phew. Finally getting in some relaxation time. The new project at work, while not completely FUBAR, took twice as long to set up the test suite for than expected. Although now that it actually works (when the senior QA guy's tinkering doesn't break it, at any rate) we can crank out test cases fairly quickly. It's actually starting to feel manageable, rather than a huge clusterfuck.
Yay progress.

Things have been pretty busy at work. It was the part-timer's last day on Friday, and Shilpa is still in India, so we only have half the QA team. Hopefully things'll calm down once Shilpa gets back and the new guy starts.
The holidays were pretty good. My family didn't make it out here for Christmas, so I played WoW in my pajamas all day. But they did make it here for New Year. Mom baked cookies, and Karon stayed around for a while longer. The cats were very happy to have other laps to sit on.

The apartment is mostly cleaned up after Karon moving out. My two cats are being fuzzy little attention whores, as they want the same level of attention that they're used to despite there being one less person in the apartment. I think they're annoyed that I've been working late lately.

Phew. Back in Blacksburg as of around 8:00. I've more than tripled the miles on my new car.
It was nice to be back, even if it was only for three days or so, plus driving time.
Thursday: Driving.
Friday: Spent in Carbondale for the most part, finding Karon an apartment for grad school.
Saturday: Ann and Brian's wedding. I didn't know many people there aside from Kyle, Amy, Ann, and Brian, although Ann's roomates and Thomas seemed rather likeable.
Sunday: Last day to hang out before going back to Virginia, which was also spent mostly in Carbondale.
Monday: More driving, followed by installing my new sound card. Skype works now. Yay!

It's official. Karon and I are driving back to Illinois on Thursday the 20th, and back to Virginia on Monday the 24th. It'll be the first time I've been home since mid October. Must finish calculating how to maximize storage space for Ski on the return trip.

I have acquired the set of Suikoden action figures. Yay! And Suikoden 5 is coming out soon!! I'm also looking forward to Tales of Phantasia and Kingdom Hearts II. I'm getting used to this 'having expendable income' thing, and with my tax refund, I'll be able to finish paying off my furniture. But the reclining couch was totally worth it.
